Dr. Philip Rasulo, MD is an endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism specialist in Bradenton, FL. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School Of Medicine in 1976 and specializes in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism.
After practicing for nearly 40 years, Dr. Rasulo decided it was time to retire. Six months before he planned to close his office doors, Dr. Rasulo began researching a service to manage his patients’ medical records charts once he retires. Understanding the importance of making his medical records available to his patients after his retirement, Dr. Rasulo did his due diligence to find the best provider of patient record storage services. His research for selecting a Patient Chart Custodian Service (PCCS) started online where he searched within and outside of his local area of Florida.
Following a phone discussions with Tom Doyle, President of HarborSafe, it was clear that even though HarborSafe was 1,200 miles away in New York, it was the right choice handling the storage and facilitation of medical record charts.
As part of his search criteria, Dr. Rasulo needed a service provider that would handle the entire process of managing patient record storage. This would include everything from step 1 of packing all of his hardcopy files to mailing his medical record charts upon request. These services included:
- Guidance on communicating to patients that the medical practice will close
- Providing patients with instructions on how to access medical record charts for future requests
- Traveling to DR. Rasulo’s office in Florida to ensure all patient charts were properly recorded and securely boxed for shipment to HarborSafe storage center
- Ensuring the safe storage and confidentiality of all records
- Taking sole responsibility of releasing and securely delivering records to patients upon request
DR. Rasulo began his retirement with the confidence that HarborSafe will securely store and manage his patients’ charts without missing beat.
“One exceptional quality about HarborSafe is the team’s attentiveness and ability to handle all aspects of custodian services, including patient record storage, retrieving, and mailing them to patients without my involvement. Given the courteous support and responsiveness I received from day one, where the HarborSafe staff traveled from New York to Florida to ensure proper packing and shipping of files, I’m confident my patients’ charts are now in the best possible hands with HarborSafe.”
